Our California DOJ-Certified CCW Initial Course is the foundation for any responsible gun owner seeking to obtain their California Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit under the new SB-2 requirements. Delivered by seasoned firearms instructors with real-world experience, this 16-hour program blends classroom instruction, legal education, and hands-on live-fire training to ensure applicants meet—and exceed—the state’s standards for safe and lawful concealed carry.
This course is designed not only to satisfy the law, but to prepare you with the skills, mindset, and confidence to carry responsibly in your daily life.

We are excited to have you at UDT CCW CLASS ON ___________ DATE
We will be on Bay ___, Please make the first right into the Range Lot just after the bridge, that is where the CCW training will be held. There are several bays in that complex we will be on Bay # at the bottom of this email is a map. Please reference that prior to departing for the location, cell reception is non-existent at the location. When you arrive please gather at the UDT/GOLDEN BEAR Sign, and I will walk you up to the range with all your gear. Make sure everything is unloaded in a case and safe, there is a bit of a walk from the cars to the shooting bay.
We will load and make ready together at the bay on the firing line. We will conduct a safety brief at 9am, if you miss the safety brief you will not be able to participate in the shooting qualification that day. Please be prompt and on time.
Firearms must be unloaded, we will inspect and holster them at the safety table on the firing line. If they are not in a holster, bring them in the bag to the table with your holster, we will holster there at the safety table.
NO WEAPONS ARE TO BE UNHOLSTERED AT ANY TIME IN THE STAGING AREAS
You need to make sure you have one empty magazine, your firearm, hostler, eye and ear protection for the first set of drills., so you will need to bring your firearms and ammo, mags, etc with you up to the Bay/staging area, you can have additional mags already loaded but leave those in your bag until told to bring them to the firing line.
Please bring approximately 250-300 rounds of ammo per Firearm- 400-500 for a full day of shooting if you want to participate in the full depth of training, but we can modify for limited rounds if you would like.
For your qualification test for your CCW you need an additional 120 per weapon CCW test.
We will shoot as much as we can or can cap each drill for you if you have limited ammo. Here is what you need to bring with you…
-Your Own Pistol (you need to bring your weapon you want on your CCW, the actual gun to be listed on your PERMIT)
- Belt and Inside or Outside the waistband kydex holster-
Kydex only, no leather, soft, Serpa, or fabric style holsters. If you are not sure, email Aaron@goldenbearsolutions.org
with pictures beforehand please to confirm.
-Magazine Pouch for 1 or 2 Magazines or Pocket to hold extra magazines.
- 2 Additional (3 total minimum) magazines for your firearm.
- Eye and Ear Protection- Ideally Electronic hearing
-Comfortable Shoes, you will be on your feet the entire time.
- Sunscreen, hat, portable chair are optional, it will be warm and in the sun so please come prepared for that. There is limited shade depending on the time of day.
-Drinks, Snacks, Food- Nothing is available on site other than a bathroom.
